The Definitive Edition includes the award-winning Pillars of Eternity alongside its expansions, The White March: Parts I & II, as well as all bonus content from the Royal Edition, and a new bundle of content called the “Deadfire Pack,” inspired by Obsidian’s upcoming Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire.

So as I understand this as owner of the hero edition and White March expansion pass I got the 'Deadfire Pack DLC' for free, but to get the 'bonus content from the Royal Edition' I would need to shell out the entire 37 Euros?

What is that content? Hard to say, since the Royal Edition is no longer available.

It would be great if owners of Pillars and White March were simply upgraded to the Definitive Edition.

Have to agree with that.

At least there should be a cheap (< 5€) possibility to upgrade. Or a possibility at all.
People on Steam report that owners of the base game (even Hero Edition) and Expansion Pass automatically get Definitive Edition.

Can we expect the same here on GOG?

Edit: I can confirm that Royal Edition goodies have been added to GOG account :)

It looks like the Royal Edition Goodies have been added to the downloads for me. They were not there yesterday and I originally purchased the Champion Edition.

Hello
i own the royal edition. i bought it a couple of months ago.......... and i don't have the 2 white march DLCS whereas now the definitivbe edition is sold with the royal edition bonuses....

why can't i get the 2 whit march DLCS as free update... ?

the new definitive edition owners now have royal edition bonuses....

this is unfair....

The Royal Edition is not all-inclusive, it never came with the White March DLCs. There's nothing unfair about it. I have the bare-bones game and the White March expansion pack. With this I have been given the Royal Edition bonuses.
I got the royal edition things now too. I originally bought the hero edition and then the white march season pass.
As far as I know this is now effectively the definitive edition, even though it's not called that on my account.

Thanks :)

Yup it looks that way :)
I'm happy that they give people that own the game the royal edition goodies for free.

They had to - having to pay £20+ for 3 pdf's. a jpeg and some mpegs was ridiculous! And the upgraded from base editions just had those for the extra money - no extra quests or anything, just electronic documents! Whenever gamers are asked to pay £10 or more for documents like maps, OST's the publishers are just asking for more piracy!

As owner of PoE + White March now have the goodies of the royal edition in my library. This should make it.
