Hi all,
I've been running this fine for a while on my desktop PC on Win x64. But my system hard drive started to fail, so I replaced it, and reinstalled the OS and drivers. Nothing's changed but the hard drive, though a couple of drivers have been updated by Windows Update.

But now, I can't go more than a few minutes into the game before it locks up, with the sound just stuttering ike a stuck CD. When ths happens, the only thing I've found to break the lock is using Windows Task Manager, to end the application. Then I have to reboot my PC, because the mouse driver seems to still be active (the mouse moves at the speed I set in Pharaoh, not at the normal desktop speed).

I've tried setting Compatibility on the launcher icon to Win Xp + Sp3, but that doesn't help.

I have no idea how to troubleshoot this, let alone resolve it. Can anyone help, please?
Try using the widescreen hack from wsgf.org: it has been known to sort some of the problems with game compatibility, presumably due to setting the game at the proper resolution. You can find it here: http://www.wsgf.org/dr/cleopatra-queen-nile/en
Thanks, Shukaku. ;-) I'll give it a try.

(I'd read mention of the patch, but wasn't sure if it was already incorporated in the GOG release. I guess not.)
