Hey, I was wondering if there was any word out there whether or not the devs will treat the gog version of the game similar to the steam version (obviously, I would rather get the game on gog then steam). How was their record for patches for their other game Hard West? I just don´t want to buy it on gog and a few months later be stuck with an unsupported version of the game. But I wouldn´t mind it if the patches (or DLC) are just a few days later.
Hey there. Going by how Hard West was treated I'd say these are the type of devs who do things as they should, and support GOG as well as they do Steam. I briefly had a look so don't pin me down on anything but it seems patch dates for the final patch were the same and the devs did address topics posted here in the GOG forums.

I'd conclude that we're likely to be in the clear as GOG customers. Enjoy running your own spy organisation!
Why would they treat the GOG version in a worse way? Steam sucks as its DRM, GOG is obviously better all around.

GOG haven't always been the best with patches for games as they like to verify patches rather than letting devs just upload. Sometimes this has led to delays, even significant delays for patches on GOG compared to Steam. I think that risk is greater with smaller titles though, Phantom Doctrine being #1 on the popular list atm is sure to get the full attention of GOG.

Hi, we take the GOG releases of our games very seriously. As Soulequilibrium mentioned, we always kept the GOG version of Hard West on par with the Steam version and very much want to maintain this standard in case of Phantom Doctrine. In this case it will be even more important since the game supports crossplay between GOG and Steam.

I can't guarantee that patches won't be sometimes delayed due to the different pipeline on GOG but we'll try to keep any delays to a minimum.

Well, a DEV has appeared here TODAY asking people what they can do better, so I`d rest assured they will treat it as well as Steam.

Hey, Thank you for that reassurance. That is exactly what I wanted to hear! And that is why I bought the game on GOG.
This is the first "new" game I have purchased through GOG, and if the patches are delayed by much it will be the last.

As it is, ignoring minor bugs, the LoS bug makes combat extremely diffficult.

So, GOG Version < Steam Version when talking about timely patching.

Unless a direct link is made avail prior to GOGs patch authorisation Steam customers get the better and timely support.
Patch v1.0.1 should now be live.

Thanks for that.

will keep an eye on dif between 1.0.2 on GOG and Steam. As it is 7.5 hours ago that it dropped on steam...

Edit: Patch notes are 1.0.2 but no patch.

getting there. thanks for the quick patches. it is appreciated.

As the time differs between GOG and Steam patches, and if you wish to multiplay with both clients then best to get one or the other, or hope that the two patches and your chosen time to play are all synced up.
