I have looked around but I can't seem to find it.

A copy protection question comes up and references the manual. The included manuals do not seem to have the information needed.

It asked what level of a stat was needed for daggers then asked a follow-up question. Getting them wrong leads to a message saying the game can not continue and it closes.

I am sure I am missing something.

I believe they have included the wrong manual with the game. There is a manual in GOG Galaxy > Games > Phantasie Memorial Set > Phantasie 1 > MANUAL, but it's the manual for Phantasie 3, and Phantasie 2 is missing a manual.
