My ancient laptop formally fulfills the minimum required specs, so I've tried to see if the game runs.

When I start the game, I get to the point where the main menu would be, but my screen is just colored purple instead. The mouse curser changes to the ingame one and I can freely move it around, there is just no menu to interact with.

Is there anything I can do to make it run on the laptop, or is this a clear sign that the graphic card is too old?
Drivers are up to date, but I would have expected to at least start the game before encountering problems with my specs.
