The game REFUSES TO LET ME PUT DOWN ANY SLABS. I have them in my inventory, they are right there, but when I open the window to apply a slab, on either side, the game REFUSES TO LET ME SELECT ANY SLABS. So yeah, I can't solve the puzzles anymore. This is very stupid.

That is most likely due an error made with the puzzle before.

In such cases it is always best to restart.
