I have a save just before the start of the chapter "Varnhold vanishing". As soon as the message arrives, i try to exit the capital to reach Varnhold.
When I try to exit, instead of the screen where I have to select the party, I get transported into an "Other world" area which is totally empty and without exits.

What can I do to overcome this? Do I have to wait for another patch?

I'm almost positive there's an exit, just maybe not marked as such.

You're supposed to have an encounter there- walk around and see if you can interact with anything.

I have a similar problem. If I go to Varnhold (after the encounter) I can make nothing there. I can go to the north - also to the walls of Varnburg, but there are only two guards. They say Maegar Varn is waiting for me, but he is'nt there and there is no exit point. The only thing is, that I can leave the city and go back to my kingdom...

he is waiting for you at your capital after you finish the tomb

You have to talk to Nyrissa first, which is in the center of the map. Only after that the game continues on.
