The game first runs 'fine' until all lifes are used up, then it goes to the startscreen (with the options "New Game" and "Passwords") and keeps freezing. Sound is playing but there is no response anymore. Task manager says "not responding" too.

I have to run it in compatability mode and as admin, otherwise the screen remains black while the sound is playing, but I can't solve the freezing after loosing all lifes.
Tried different compatability modes, but it is still freezing.
Does anyone has an idea to solve this issue?

System: Win 7 32 bit, Intel Core2 @ 2,16 GHz, 3 GB RAM, GeForce Go 7950 GTX
