I heard a lot of good about this game, but I'm giving up on it.

Currently at the Castle level, and the bug in the house is keeping me from progressing. But in addition to that, the game is too hard (frustrating, really) on this difficulty, (the hardest one before the special difficulty, without Hell). And its unfair hard. These damned skeletons M-U-R-D-E-R me far more than they should. I'm running around with 8 health, and max armor, but for some reason the armor doesn't factor in and the skellies annihilate me with one touch. How? I know sometimes they blow up, but not always. But after a good 15+ tries of clearing that house with the starter weapon, (which sometimes connects, sometimes doesn't)--because for some reason, for the last few levels, that and the chaingun weapon are the only ones I have, even though there is ammo for the others everywhere--I'm done. Too damn frustrating. Shame.

Yeah, the Bones can be quite nasty on Trauma. In addition to making enemies hit harder, Trauma also reduces the amount of ammo you receive from pickups. There's that silver card that doubles the ammo you get, you could use that to have more options on which weapon to use.

Best way to get rid of the Bones is probably blast them with rockets or grenades before you see them, even before they're formed up, since Bones are quite weak but hard to hit. Second choice would be Elektro followed by shurikens. By the way, Bones explode if they're low on HP, but not quite dead. They stop and throw their head at you which does some damage.

Hopefully this helps.

Well how do you get more weapons?? I start the level with the starter wep, and the grenade launcher thing. Yet I'm picking up ammo for other weapons I certainly do not have, which is frustrating. In the beginning I had to find the weapons, but now that I have, shouldn't they all be accessible?

Ben1890:
I don't ever recall having that problem... what kinds of ammo are you talking about? Don't forget, each weapon has a secondary fire mode that consumes a wildly different form of ammunition (chaingun/rocket launcher ftw).

You should have them all by now if you've picked them in previous maps. If you don't there must be a bug or something. Have you tried loading the oldest Castle level autosave and see if you have the weapons. If don't all I can think of is replaying the previous level where you did have them all.
I managed to complete the game. Loaded a previous save that somehow threw me down a difficulty I think. Whatever; its done, I finished it! Threw a review up as well :p

I'm currently playing this game on the normal difficulty and do i gain anything if i play it on the hard difficult?
The level Prison (Chapter II level 1) is available on Nightmare and Trauma and Forest(Chapter IV level 4) is available on Trauma only. Also there's a new ending video when you complete Trauma. Oh, and both maps have their own tarot cards.

Other than that, there's nothing else.
I don't understand people who play on hard and then complain about how hard it is... you should be playing on insomnia if nightmare is too hard for you.
