hello, i am new to this forum, steam makes very difficult to talk bad about a game that is not wotking right so i came here, i just got this game and this new version is terrible, the framerate is slow as a snail, the cutscenes play audio only, if you press ESC on the game or a cutscene or whatever it goes right to the deskopt, it haves many problems, how can i fix it? is pretty ironic that they tried to fix it to work better with modern computers and is actually the opposite, please and thank you all

Maybe some system specs? Runs great on my 4 year old laptop @ 1920x1080.

LiqMat: Maybe some system specs? Runs great on my 4 year old laptop @ 1920x1080.
thanks, is a Windows 7, the processor is AMD Athlon II X2 240 2.81 GHz, 2,00 GB Ram, 64 bits operative system, i cannot run modern games but it should not have a problem with an old game like this, by example a game like call of cthulhu runs just fine

That system would run the classic version of Outcast perfectly, but as for the newer version lets try a few things. That processor can only run two threads at a time so have you tried switching your threads from Auto to two threads? Does that improve anything?

Also make sure you run the DirectX 9.0c runtime. Here is the web installer:

By the way, also make sure under Settings and Display you are running in Fullscreen Native and NOT Fullscreen Borderless. Fullscreen Borderless will make your FPS drop considerably.

Better to install the June 2010 DirectX redistributable first and then run the web installer. GOG also needs to update the other link.

Yeah, I have a feeling he might be running in the fullscreen borderless mode which destroys fps in the game.
