is there any way to run the game on a macbook with M1?

not likely, since the game is using opengl which is no longer supported. you should request that they add metal support.

Metal is a mac only thing. It isn't going to be implemented since Original War is not designed to be natively compiled for macs. Aka it would require alot of time to re-write lots of code, replace stuff, etc for it to be able to compile natively for mac/linux. Time which can't be justified when the majority of the users are on PC's.

Note: owsupport doesn't get paid in any way for ongoing development/maintenance of OW (And hasn't since its inception in 2005).


There was a user who got Original War running via crossover on a M1 but i think they had to use the skip parameter to skip the intros as the 4XM video would fail (Altar's intro logo).
