Story spoilers ahead

Playing through this game and I cannot help but think the story is anti-trans. As the story unfolds it reveals that the murderer in the apartment block is a man who wishes to transition to a werewolf through cybernetic augmentations. When Daniel jacks into his mind we see flashbacks of the killer's childhood where he is denied by his father after expressing this identity. Daniel through the killer's eyes also hallucinates being a literal predator chasing after a deer. Upon catching it, it is revealed to be the woman he murdered.

I was hoping it was an unintentional read, but when you find the killer's lair, you read his emails where there is an article interviewing the tech company that creates the augmentation and the parallel with trans identity becomes explicit. Although it is worded to be trans friendly, the framing is that of suspicion towards transitioning and the procedures that enable it.

I have found nothing else online that has picked up on this framing but I am sure it is too obvious to be accidental.
