As much as I enjoy NMS, walking speed is sloooooow. Even sprinting won't improve it. I've seen molasses poured faster than that.

Is it possible to have this patched, that is, if it's not too late for Hello Games?

Otherwise, can it be modded to improve walking speed?
You can find upgrades for your suit to sprint longer.
Right now I sprint and just before I am exhausted I start using the jet pack. Then at least I fly at the same speed as I was sprinting. I also upgraded the jet pack.

When I have to land again, I can start sprinting again.
So far running it is okay.

Now I need to learn how to stay under water for a longer time. :)
There is currently a 'glitch' which allows you to travel pretty fast.

First sprint and then press the melee button. Immediately after melee press jump/boost. This will boost you up and you can keep going as long as your jet-pack has charge left.

You can travel pretty fast using this trick, as long as you're not going up a hill. Hopefully they'll never patch this.
There is a neat little trick you can do to improve your "walking" speed.

With "Q" (or the right bumper on controller) you can do a melee attack that makes you dash forward a bit. If you do this and immediately afterwards jump and use your jetpack, you'll be propelled forward much faster.

I don't know if this is intended or a bug so enjoy it while it lasts.
I unlocked Nomad title walking all over the starter planet.
I have a lot of respect for Devs that stick you to a realistic move\walk speed.

Love it. Sometimes like when I see a beautiful vista I just like to walk along. Or when i`m in the Station I`ll walk having reached somehere I can relax. Yes, I run most times when exploring, but I like walking too.

This is not a game to be rushed.
I use a combination of that Jetpack Dash bug (I hope they never patch it out) and sprinting. Even with the initial sprint upgrade, I can get around at a decent speed.
