Has anyone used the voice chat with players on other platforms? I'm able to play with friends on PS4s but the voice chat isn't working. They are using the in game voice chat, not PS4 party, and they can all hear each other but on the PC I don't hear them and they don't hear me. I have tested my mic online with no problem. Please don't suggest Discord, I'm only interested in the in game chat, I'm not asking them to change just for me.

Also, should there be voice chat and crossplay options in 'Network'? There is on the PS4 but not on the PC.

On the pc there is an option under Network tab called "speech to text". It tries to automatically convert your voice into text (with a varying degree of success), which is then displayed as a written message on the chat window. But for actual voice transmission, my friends and i do resort to using discord, which works fine.

We tried the speech to text but it only worked for a couple of minutes before stopping and hasn't worked again since. Oh well, back to playing alone then. :( Thanks.

Is this feature available for the GoG version of the game ?

Well, after the Origins update the chat still wasn't working. I'm not impressed with how Gog have forced the Galaxy beta on everyone and ignored all complaints despite all the bugs. NMS is the only game I used Galaxy for so I decided that when NMS was on offer on Steam I would buy it and transfer my saves. Well, it's on offer so yesterday I moved to Steam and tested out the chat with friends on PS. It works!

Sad to say that Gog have lost me as a customer, not that I bought a lot so they're not going to miss me. I'm sure they're still ok for single player games but for multiplayer they are not a viable option.

Same. No voice chat option on GOG version.
Though my friend on Steam has this option.
