With the path finder update, now the textures show always in LOW, even When I select Ultra... They look awful... What happens???

I have a GTX 1070

I'm running an older GTX 760 so I haven't tried pushing the visuals too far. Actually, some game-specific settings I had in the NVidia Control Panel may have been the cause of some crashes to Desktop. Reverting the NVidia settings to default as well as the game's Graphics options to default is working out pretty well in Path Finder. I lowered the gamma correction to 100 (the game's default 128 (if I recall correctly) was too vivid) and now it looks pretty sweet. Things are less "cartoony" now.

So, I'd try writing down any current custom settings (just in case) and then resetting both the NVidia control panel application settings (if any) and in-game graphic settings to default and see how that works out. Might need a restart of the game to apply some of the settings, of course.
Yep, from the update notes it appears that a lot of changes in the visuals / grafics have been made, so a good idea is after install, set the grafics to default to write new settings, and make changes from there.
I really hope the flickering grass issue is now definilty gone...:Still downloading these huge files...:)

It doesn't work for me (GTX 1070). I still see the ugly low quality textures even in Ultra... :(

Be sure to take out all the mods, and launch the game without. Mods need first to be adapted for the Pathfinder Update, some will be obsolete like the Fly Low (now standard as for the notes) etc.
This can make a difference, especially GRAFIC MODS, Take them out !!
I just read on Steam that others have problems too, so I'm not too optimistic, your card is way better than my GTX 960.

Possible fix over at http://steamcommunity.com/app/275850/discussions/0/135511027319563292/. Didn't seem to work for everbody but it may be worth a try.
Please build you shadercache new after update!! Its very important for new graphics features! For this only delete all files in "No Man's Sky"\GAMEDATA\SHADERCACHE. After restart the Game build the new shadercache files.

Did you update your graphics drivers? The textures worked for me after I updated and optimized my game through g-force experience.

Yes, this!

I am having this problem *after* installing version 1.3, was fine up to 1.24 ... none of the subsequent patches have fixed things, nor does the texturepagesize setting or deleting shaders. ='-( Any other suggestions?
