I submitted a support request but thought that I would mention this to see if anyone has noticed that the Salvaged Fleet Units apparently are not applied to reduce the duration of an frigate mission or expedition.

Despite having three Salvaged Fleet Units each of Fuel and Beacons I have not noticed any improvement in the duration of freighter mission duration. I ran the test with the modules installed and again with these six modules deleted.

This was a combat mission with an original duration of 27 hours 59 minutes and 0 seconds and two S-Class frigates were assigned, one fighter and one support. The duration did not decrease after initiating.

I restored the save and reassigned the same ships to the same mission after having first deleted the modules as noted below but the duration remained exactly the same.

I deleted three S-Class Beacon Modules of +15% speed (each), two S-Class Beacons of +19% expedition efficiency (each) plus one A-Class Beacon of +15% expedition efficiency.

My conclusion is that the bonuses for the Salvaged Fleet Units are not being applied, at least in terms of expedition speed.

Question is if the expedition time will be real time from mission start or gameplay time from mission start. In the first case quitting and reloading game will count, in the 2nd case it will not count, you'd have to play that long to end the mission. From my experience I think the 1st one is true, but HG could have easily changed that in the past updates, so I don't know for sure. Be aware that HG is also including 'silent' changes with some updates without telling it in the patch notes.

Also check if any of your frigates partecipating in said missions have any negative scores in the frigate description (chose the frigate in Fleet Management to see its performance). If this is the case then the mission will take longer even considered the time bonus. A C-Class frigate with little mission experiecnce could perform badly compared to a higher class frigate with lots of missions already done. You can see all these statistics in the FM when chosing a single frigagte.

Thanks but these are S-Class frigates so are long past any and all updating, etc., so even had there been any negative traits those are long gone as of nearly two years ago.

I had limited my test to frigates that also did not have any enhancements that would affect expedition duration as I wanted to try to test how stacking bonuses were applied such as being simply additive.

It seems to be a math problem perhaps along the lines of delivering 5 storm crystals but the game takes 20 or the errors with the quantity of raw materials per the mission description as opposed to what is actually taken when turning in.
Chewy, did you wait until the missions returned and see how long it took, or were you just looking at the reported duration? It's entirely possible the duration is actually lowered, but HG just didn't alter the reporting to reflect tat at mission start.

Thanks but Yes, real-time expedition duration matches the duration as shown when the expedition is launched and as the countdown timers in the fleet command rooms and the Manage Fleet display.

The duration of a mission appears first before assigning frigates and then is recalculated after frigates are assigned as there is a trait for frigates that can (and does) reduce expedition duration. The NPC Navigator will always show the original duration even when an expedition is in progress but speaking to the NPC frigate commander in the Command Room and also when looking in the Manage Fleet display will show the actual remaining duration after applying the bonus for any traits.

While I haven't timed these to the second the actual real time elapsed from departure to return is the recalculated value that I noted above.

I only care about the expedition duration when it exceeds 24 hours as I could otherwise have a plan for what time of day I could spend five minutes or so to complete and then start the next day's set. Much of it is a waste as I delete just about everything that I receive after first replenishing anything that I had used while performing exploration, etc. I just want to keep the expeditions going and not have a large backlog to work through in the event that there are ever any changes to frigate missions in a future update.

One thing that I noticed when performing the test or check that I originally described was that there is a difference of about 30 seconds or so that is added to the actual expedition duration after clicking the launch button and then rechecking the Manage Fleet display. Instead of being a little less than 27:59:0 by the time I opened up that display window the duration was actually 27:59:24 or so.

Thanks for the breakdown, Chewy. Good info. :)
