I finally got the GOG version of No Man's Sky for myself after playing on PS4 for years...but I can't play it!

My monitor is a bit dated. It runs (recommended as well) at 1680 x 1050. That is the resolution of most of my games. My PC hardware is considerably better than my ancient monitor from 12 years ago.

When I got to load No Man's SKy the first thing I see taking up the screen is "Input Signal out of Range", change settings to 1680 x 1050 - 60 Hz.

The monitor shortly thereafter goes to sleep. I cannot even load the game to go to in-game settings. My desktop resolution is as stated in 1680 x 1050.

A Reddit post ( found here: https://www.reddit.com/r/NoMansSkyTheGame/comments/4xetqt/input_signal_out_of_range_please_help/ ) for the Steam version says to edit a settings file in the game folder to make this happen. I got a folder that is a similar path; No Man's Sky - _support - 1445213994 - app - Binaries - Settings. But the settings folder is empty and there are no hidden files to configure.

Does anyone have an idea as to how I can go about fixing this issue? I would love to play Beyond!

EDIT: I solved my own problem. There were two separate folders and I got thrown off because of the Steam version. I just had to search for "Settings" and got a SECOND settings folder. Found the file linked in the reddit thread and fixed the issue. I'm editing this in case anyone else runs into a similar problem and they need help

No Man's Sky > Binaries > SETTINGS > TKGRAPHICSSETTINGS.MXML

look for <Property name="ResolutionWidth" value="1920" /> <Property name="ResolutionHeight" value="1080" />

and change the numbers there, then be sure to save the file in the same format and place, with the same name as when you opened it.

You might also want to set these to match what I show <Property name="FullScreen" value="false" /> <Property name="Borderless" value="true" />
