It means they ported a bloody console game to PC and pulled a Square Enix.

Just wait for patches and let the whiners whine!

Neutronenkeks: Does NO Man's Sky also run with less than 8GB RAM?
It runs fine with 4GB since the game uses about 2GB. I limited my machine to 4GB and started it up and it ran the same.

That being said memory is cheap I would recommend having more just to avoid any crashes or memory leak issues.
