Hi fellow Sky Owners.

I have a RTX2070 graphics card from EVGA. It is mounted onto an Asus Maximus VIII motherboard, running an i7 CPU with 16Gb memory.

I've been using the 430.86 driver for a while. I had a few crashes one morning so tried updating.

Installed the 436.15, driver only, after removing the old driver with DDU

NMS continually juddered, especially on any movement. Change environment and it took a while to load each new environment. Tried lowering setting to their lowest with small improvement, with loss of visual clarity.

So I rolled back and have had no problems since.

Just wondering, has anyone else had problems with the latest NVIDIA updates

I am on 436.15, and didn't notice any degradation in performance compared to 436.02, which I was running before.

I don't install GeForce experience and allays perform a 'clean install' by ticking the corresponding checkbox, though.

Edit: GTX1080, no-TI.

ksj8ak2: I don't install GeForce experience
How do you accomplish this? Last time I updated my drivers (a couple weeks ago), I did a clean install, but I was unable to avoid installing GeForce Experience (and believe me, I wanted to avoid it). The tick box was greyed out and would not let me de-select it.

That's odd. I chose 'Custom Installation', and then was able to untick it. I remember, that in the past they at least once tried forcing GeForce Experience down my throat. I skipped that particular update, and since then, I was allways able untick it.

I'll check the latest driver and see if I can avoid it.

.. Open the spoiler in the section titled "Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) & Graphics Card drivers"

I also dont let GeForce Experience install - Its idea of settings for games is usually a bit wrong anyway, and the overlay it introduces can cause performance problems for NMS, its also just something else running in the background I dont need :)

No, I have had all drivers you tried and not had any issues, kept each update (no reversions) and clean installed each subsequent update. I had a barely noticeable lag when low flying fast on planets, then recently I found a tip on reddit to drastically reduce the "Motion Blur Amount" setting = Having done that the game is now smooth as butter throughout. Vulkan vastly improved low flight performance, but this tip finally got rid of the last remnant of performance concerns for NMS on my laptop machine.

Thanks. I'm sure I chose the option for just the driver when I installed last time and when I went to Custo,m Install (as I always do), it was selected and couldn't be deselected. Perhaps I brainfarted and actually chose the driver + experience. If so, I'll not make that error again.

Thanks everyone for the responses. Really appreciated.

I did each of these. It may be another issue altogether.

Anyway, for the time being I'll stick with the old driver.

Thanks again to everyone, much appreciated.
