I waited long to buy NMS but with the newest patch I couldn wait. But what a diappointment. I can play it on my MSI Stealth Pro MSI GS63VR with only 10 fps in all lowest settings ? what could be the problem ?
First i thought it was becouse it uses the integrated graphics but when i check in task manager it shows me that the dedicated graphicscard is in use. I'm playing on a MS Stealthbook and newer had problems with newer games...

what could be the problem ?

Strange, I have a laptop I7 7700 with a 1070 and except for the overheating when i am at 60fps, I don't have the problem you mention.

That can be the Gsync, see in the directory No Man's Sky -> Binaries -> SETTINGS -> Then open the file named "TKGRAPHICSSETTINGS" with notepad and in the "Gsync" option, if it is written "true", replace it by writing "false".

EDIT - And try to turn V-sync off in the graphics option menu, that can cause problems too.

The game is the problem.

Like you, I bought it (for a second time - refunded it on release with Steam due to crippling performance issues back whenever that was) due to the 1.3 patch, and the hope that they might have fixed things by now.

But no. I'm running an i5 processor with an AMD RX 480... not hugely powerful, but enough that Witcher 3, GTA V and Dying Light all run smoothly. Yet No Man's Sky? I can get maybe 40FPS if I stand still staring at nothing much. The moment I look at anything vaguely interesting, it drops to 25-28, and if I turn around it'll frequently drop to 17 or less.

On top of that, textures aren't loading in properly so things are blurry, even when I've tweaked the game settings.

Spent all last night tweaking and tweaking, and while turning off AA helped a little, it didn't help enough. It's just a horribly, horribly optimised game.

Thanks for the help, but it didn't help...

Have you tried turning off the Overlay in Geforce Experience - from the Steam forums:
=============================================
OMG you are right the overlay did the trick!!! :D

it's not enough to just disable shadowplay need to disable the overlay altogether.

Guys for those still having this problem unreasonably low fps (15-7) regardless of settings go to Geforce Experience -> Settings -> IN-GAME OVERLAY -> toggle off.

My FPS is 50-60 now XD at all low. Thanks!
=============================================

Might work for you, might not, worth a shot I think...

Let me know if it helps,

Cheers,

Tony.
