I found my first one and (stupidly) I accepted it because of 1 more inventory slot, only to discover that literally everything was broken and needed to be repaired. It seems to be way more bother than it's worth, unfortunately for some stupid reason the game seems to have autosaved as soon as I accepted the new ship, so it's impossible for me to load up a previous save and go back to my old ship.

Anyone here found any decent crashed ships?

The best way to upgrade through crashes (so I'm told) is to either disassemble everything on the old ship, accept the new one, and only repair what you need to in order to launch, then go find another crash site and do it again until you have a ship you're willing to stick with for a while, or accept the new ship, disassemble everything, and then take your old ship back (it should still be there).

I don't have the patience to do this, though (I kept finding ships that were one slot lower), and the one I'm in now looks kind of like Serenity, so I've not bothered to look for an upgrade for a while.
Wouldn't it be better just to save up and buy a new ship?

Try. It`ll take a long time unless you grind all day.

I prefer just finding them.

This. It is much faster to do it this way. If you upgrade a few times then stick with it and fix it, warp to the next system then do it again. While you're doing this you can find the suit upgrade pods too so you're be getting more space all around.

After the 1.07 you'll no longer be able to get 3 ships per Gek Transmission tower.. its back to 1 per tower :/
I've read on reddit that some people have given up the mining grind to just focus on becoming crashed ship scavengers. It seems it is a sort of hardcore play style, but adds a bunch of fun.

I wouldn't have known about that anyway. I usually keep moving forward, never really going back to where I have already been.

I tried that, decided to disassemble my ship on a sentinel aggressive world and run in one direction for :30 minutes.... from there i started over after removing everything from my INV... it was insane... had to find beacons survive the constant sentinels and dogs... i needed just a little more carbon and the walkers came in force thought i was going to die...

in the end it was a 4 hour experiment that landed me a fighter ship with a cargo hold of 32. After a few days of playing it got so boring i had to try and spice it up... sadly after that ship I haven't gone back to the game :/

One large fault in this for me, is that a Transmission tower point to a crash-site where I've bin.
So Im guessing I've been to over 50 sites but only have 27 slots craft. And I've always accepted the ship if there was more slots.

So I get only 2-3 crash sites, before NMS directs me to a site I've visited earlier... And I have to get really close to to get the grey icon. Then I have to visit it again, or it will turn red if I travel away... Since it no good way to manage waypoints, obectives, etc on the screen / Hud, I'm loosing interest in the game...

If you are on a planet with water, I find that crashed ships are on the shore of the water all the time, so instead of using a transmission tower, I would fly from lake to lake along the shore looking for ships and found tons that way.

You guys are making this more difficult than it actually is. Just go to a planet, hit one of those terminals, find a crashed ship- Or fly over the terrain until you see one. Nothing? Try the next planet. Seriously, it`s not rocket science! I don`t go through a quarter of this angst to find ships, I just take my time, explore and find. You can`t help, but bump into one sooner or later! lol!

All my ships are crashed ships. I usually start disassembling all the
beam weapons and upgrades (I don't use them) and at least
half of all the upgrades for the photon cannon. Don't need it.
Instead I fix the engine (have zinc, heridium, iron etc. on hand)
and if I don't like it, I don't fix or upgrade anything on it, until I find
another ship, that I like. Then I pimp it out with all the hyperdrive upgrades
and pulse engine and shield. Then later on I'll go find another and it continues
until I'm bored to death with the game.
It seems they changed it to one ship per planet. I was getting 3, today I fly around and it's nothing after the first ship. My MO is to land as close as possible to the crashed ship. Then take over the ships back and forth until I have stripped the one I am leaving behind. I just started doing it it with smaller ships. Instead of just leaving, this last one, I decided to strip it for the resources you get from dismantling everything. Why go mining when I can strip a ship I don't want.

I have found several crashed ships on one planet.
