I have the game installed through gog galaxy 2.0. Wanted to start the new expedition but no update is available and the game is stuck on 3.89. Offline installer has 3.89 so I can't manually solve the issue and not even trying uninstalling the game and reinstalling through galaxy managed to update it. What can I do?

When you launch the game and are at the first window the build number is listed in the very low right corner. The build number for 3.90 is 87850.

If you have the right build number then first try a Verify/Repair by selecting the button to the right of Play, then Manage Installation then Verify/Repair. This may take a few minutes and screen will look as if it is updating the game.

If you have a build number lower than 87850 then No Man's Sky is not updated and you might want to submit a support request to GOG. They may suggest uninstalling Galaxy only and then to reinstall Galaxy and scan for games.

If I do that, will all my custom flair and libraries stay there when I install galaxy again? I spent ages filtering my games and I wouldn't like to lose all of that.

I would suggest waiting to see if GOG suggests that, it was just a heads up. I did some troubleshooting at their request a while ago and I was able to just do the Galaxy uninstall and reinstall without any problems but I cannot promise that things have not changed since then.

There is a patch to 3.91 out today and that might be enough to trigger a fix your problem. If not, then suggest contacting GOG.

The current build is now 88116 for version 3.91
it doesn't resolve the bug. I'm on the right build version, but still showing the Outlaw patch notes ingame and the expedition is also not available.
I am happy to note that both the currently missing manual installer patches are now available (3.90 & 3.91).

Only took a week :( , but now I can finally start the current Expedition.
