Why do I have 3 GOG "helper" apps running at same time when I'm not logged into NMS or GOG?

Also, have another app, just "GOG", listed as active, but doesn't appear to be actually running, no CPU use.

I noticed the same thing. I hate when companies think there software is the only thing you will or should have running.

Thanks for the reply.

All my other internet connections seem to slow down when I don't turn these off. Like my Firefox 'fer gosh sake. :)
Hence why I don`t use GOG Galaxy. As much as I like GOG as a team and people and their general ethos, I didn`t come here from 3rd party Steam doing crap behind the scenes using up processing resources I don`t know about, to have GOG do the same thing to me!

I buy games for the GAME. Nice and clean.
You need GoG Galaxy to get your GoG username "ASIIndustries" in my case will me shown if you are on-line,
you don't need GoG Galaxy running at all even at system boot, my copy of GoG Galaxy is disabled at system
boot, along with all those automatic software updates, i even do not launch GoG Galaxy before launching
"No Man's Sky" when in game press [ESC] key and , however "Explorer" username will be shown when
the game is off-line.

You can use either built-inWindows programs such as "C:\Windows\System32\msconfig.exe" or other 3rd party
programs to control what Services you need and what software that is automaically loaded upon Windows
boot such as the free version of Spybot - Search & Destroy.

ASIIndustries: You need GoG Galaxy to get game money for what you have found or acheived in the game
Wrong, you get money just fine, the discoveries are just labelled as found by Explorer.
and even if you have Galaxy off, other things WILL run when you run a game that Galaxy knows about, i.e. GalaxyCommunication.exe.

You beat me to it.
Greeting Arallu and Socratatus, you are both correct after testing it, you do get in-game game money for your results!

And half the games you may want to try, these games do not support GoG Galaxy!
