Just started playing and after a few minutes I get a rapidly flashing (and noisy) tutorial message telling me to "Reach over your shoulder then press [unbound] to pick up your multi-tool". From what I could find online this is a VR prompt, but I'm playing with a keyboard and mouse and have no VR hardware and I cannot find an option in-game to disable/enable VR. I have attached a screenshot.
I've installed and launched the game with GOG Galaxy but it's my first time using it so I may have missed something in the process.
Also it's my first time using these forums so apologies if I'm using the wrong etiquette.
Thanks.

As I understand it (not having ventured into VR myself) the only way to launch NMS in VR mode is via the dropdown menu (see screenshot).

Just tried launching in VR mode as per above -- running only a regular keyboard + mouse + monitor setup -- and it behaved pretty normally to keyboard commands. Wouldn't have known that VR had been attempted.

It might think that VR should be used if you have Steam VR installed and/or running. Not sure about that.

Perhaps check the video card settings? Or ... could the monitor be reporting back to the video API that it's VR capable via an HDMI link?
