This has happened a number of times since the big update several weeks prior to the latest expedition. I arrive back at my freighter and find that there are walls blocking access to areas I have created. I'm assuming that the game is reinstating the walls that were there when the freighter was in it's just been acquired state. Seems like all the stuff I've done is still there but hidden. Just trying to delete the walls doesn't work - I end up with floor sections missing and the game won't let me replace them. I've had to reinstall a back up version of my freighter using NMS Save Edit - which means I lose anything new I might have done in the meantime.

My freighter is a conquered pirate ship. This has happened about 4 times over the past couple of months and I'm pretty sick of it. Anyone else had this experience?

There have been more than a few complaints about this in other forum. It might help to submit support tickets to Hello Games. This only happens under certain circumstances when warping back to the freighter.

There are two ways to get around this:
1. Warp to and then back from a space station and the current system is the quickest.
2. There is a General Setting to reset position in freighter but it has the downside of performing an "emergency warp" but after completion you will be on the freighter's bridge and everything should be restored. Press Esc > Options > General and then scroll down to Miscellaneous and then click the option to Reset Position In Freighter.
Thanks for the replies and sorry about the slow response.

Perhaps I just go into panic mode when it happens! Last time the frustration was such that it just killed the desire to bother playing the game. So I shut it down and came to the forum to do this thread. Today is the first time that I've gone back into NMS since and the mystery walls are gone again. I have previously tried simply transporting to a new location and back again but that hasn't always worked - which may mean whatever the game glitch is, it did it twice in a row.

Judging from the responses and my latest experience the thing to do is get out of there and come back later - DO NOT ATTEMPT TO FIX THE ISSUE because I suppose that makes the bogus elements a part of the freighter layout.

BTW - I never knew that reset your position in the freighter thing existed. Could have used that a couple of times when I've been trapped between floors while remodelling my freighter.

The slowness of traffic in this forum makes one wonder if anyone even plays this game.

Unfortunately there seems to be no other forum about No Man's Sky around, except Steam, and I wouldnt go to Steam.
