Feeling very frustrated. I've spent an hour trying to complete thtis task. I went to the site and landed next to an abandoned building. As soon as I hopped out of my ship I was attacked by Biological Horrors so I thought this is like a Nexus mission. I set about the task of slaughtering them and destroying/collecting eggs. After I'd run out of eggs and monstrosities I stll hadn't achieved the task so I went into the building and consulted the communication machine. It told me nothing useful (can't remember what but it just didn't seem pertinent) so I went outside found another egg destroyed that and killed a bunch more monstrosities. Still no task completion.

Following a google search I found a note where someone said there should be an infestation point nearby - I think they meant of the giant beetle things. I searched around and over a nearby hill and found a bunch of new style giant beetles but they weren't attacking me. I slaughtered them anyway. Still no completion. Where I killed the big bugs seems like a creature spawning area rather than an official infestation point. I've searched for a nearby infestation point without luck.

Anyone else having a similar problem?

Is there something obvious I'm missing?

I just played through the 2nd phase of the expedition and had no problems at all with Infestation Site Beta so I went back to the Apha site and just started visiting nearby buildings. I knew there was a factory nearby but I didn't think Sentinels were anything to do with this particular task - turns out it was the 2nd part of it afterall. Not only got the Alpha reward but picked up a reward for killing 32 sentinels by hiding in the building every time my shield was getting a bit low. Hope this helps someone out.
