Running GOG Galaxy, up to date, and NMS patch version 3.42_season2, at least what GOG Galaxy says. If I enter "patch notes" is says 3.32, any other having the same version difference?

But the main problem. Playing the Beachhead expedition and been doing it for some hours. Did complete the first step and is not may second tier sted in the quest. Trying to reach the rendezvous point 2, using freighter to warp to the system. If I enter the ship and travel to the space station, the anomaly, landing on a planet etc and exiting the ship the game freezes. If I warp to the system and before entering the ship I place a save beacon in the build able area in the freighter to save my arrival the game also just freezes. Getting message from Windows that "not responding, collecting date to send to M$".

Not yet tried to reinstall the game of GOG Galaxy, but did try to google and did a bunch of trick, none helps. The problems is it is just not the last system for tier 2 quests that I have experienced this crash, did saw it no tier 2 quests (don't remember where), but then a shutdown game, GOG galaxy and reboot my computer" seemed to fix the problem then, but not now. Had a few crashes on "normal" play as well.

PS, playing on my laptop which is a few years old, an ASUS G752 with i7, 16GB RAM and Geforce 970M card. Also replaced the 128GB M2 SSD with a 1TB M2 SSD and game is installed on this M2.

Any one got an idea of what may be the issue?

Seen this a few times on reddit, and personally experienced extended saving where the screen goes black .. but recovers if you hold your breath :), complete crashes I only experienced when we had the expeditions bug when trying to trade with an NPC landed on space stations and there were other multiplayers on the same station.

I am pretty sure it depends on the amount of multiplayers in the area, now that everyone knows what the prize is maybe before they were not bothered about participating, now there's a flood of people want the prize and trying to complete the expedition before time runs out.

It may be better tomorrow, maybe Hellogames needs to adjust the server load a bit to cope. Maybe going to a different system temporarily .. or maybe temporarily turn off multiplayer in a new system, but switch it back on before coming back into the rendezvous system.

Go doing some of the later quests in other phases, like getting the one out of the way where you have to be First Contact, fly off at a tangent to where you would expect everyone else to have gone and get some peace while progressing, then use a station teleport to come back to the main quarry.

Whatever you try, backup your saves first.

Edit: I used to run the game on a laptop with a 970M, but its only just viable for this game (ie its minimum spec when you compair it to the desktop equivalent of this graphics chips capabilities), a full blown 970 on a desktop card would be fine, but the M version in laptops is not as good. So make sure you tweak things down a bit, I have a guide here ..

.. This guide was started when I had that machine, but I have upgraded the laptop a few times since. Good luck :)

First - patch notes are slow to show up and even worse for GOG. The current build is 73163 which can been seen in the lower right starting at the screen to select between Play Game and Multiplayer. Patch notes are frequently first available in the Steam forum and then on the No Man's Sky webpage. The patch notes are copied and pasted (usually) to the Changelog thread in this forum.

Second - I had the same problem with loading to be extremely slow or even failing when in one of the systems with a Rendezvous Point and eliminated that by disconnecting from the Internet prior to entering or resuming play in such a system.

I believe the problem to be from having too many asinine communications balls and bases to load. I started disconnecting from the Internet when doing the older style community missions as the idiots were blocking the visibility of required waypoints, building traps, etc. Disabling multiplayer does not block all of the stupid messages and bases but not loading all of them greatly reduces the number to something more manageable. Not as reasonable as having the option to disable these in game settings but works for me.

Seems like you guys was on track, problem solved when I disconnected to the wifi and internet, warped in, saved with save beacon, then also flew to the rendezvous point, save and then connected to the internet again. So There may be a bug or at least a problem if to many players, bases, beacons etc is being in the same place. But don't think it is the players as I had the problem over time yesterday and then also today.

But now I have a "fix" for the problem at least. Thanks and take care!
