So if your an archivist and want to run NMS in VR from he standalone installer then you'll need to add "-HmdEnable 1" to the end of the EXE in a shortcut. Or launch it with the argument form run command.

Example: "E:\GOG Games\No Man's Sky\Binaries\NMS.exe" -HmdEnable 1

If you dont want to have steam then look into OpenComposite it will give you a openvr_api.dll and let you go VR steamless.

The latest patch has allowed all settings to be enhanced and HBAO on without much (if any) reprojection when using a proper VR system. Otherwise see attached picture for VR settings on potato rigs.

Thanks but to techie for me to do....

I dont understyand why either GOG nor Hello Games dont set it up like this in the first place?? Why to players have to fluff around figuring out hacks like this to get it running as sold in Windows PC WHD VR?

IMO Laurie

EDIT second thoughts see next post....

Just for clarification: OpenComposite has been updated in the last few days. SteamVR no longer needs to be installed to play No Man's Sky VR.

I do have some odd controler problems (Oculus Rift with Touch Controlers), but then I didn't update NMS for now, and am still playing 2.04, so YMMV.

Edit: Just read through the commit notes. Bindings are broken with OpenComposite. So, I can stare at the scenery in awe, but the the controller problems will need attention from the OpenComposite dev(s).

OpenComposite was more for the anti-steam people... I allow Oculus and SteamVR to launch so i have a good experiance in VR. I honestly had no idea they added the shortcut. over time it will get better!
I am thinking of getting Odyssey+ WMR. Does it work well with NMS VR?
FYI now getting into NMS VR with gog OpenVr and the Steam WHD one and Win VR running.. there was a WIP gog.com NMS binding available which I choes.... I am getting some jumping back to the Steam VR sopace....

I need to look at his bind settings to see what button does what etc.....eg left grab was fly/jump but I couldnt figure out what direction control was... still its work in progree ok... Laurie
I guess GOG Galaxy 2.0 is still beta... seems like being able to add command line options to a GOG game should be a pretty basic feature.

Do we get to have achievements if you launch the game this way? I guess I will find out.
