Thanks to share, that's interesting! I must confess I don't minimally understand the underlaying principle of this Titan ARG thing, but if I look at your pics I see a programer's todo list as of july 5 (1,5 month prior of release, 1st pic).

Then, the 2nd pic: I think I met this story text in 1 of my visits to the Atlas Station in-game IIRC, although the grafics are different.

AND SO WHAT ??
On Steam (and elsewhere I guess) all this is interpreted with a big update comming out soon, but I for my part I am simply waiting for the next update, no need to solve charades in the meantime, or is this a game of its own started by some bored NMS fan players? For that matter I recall 'No Mario's Sky' that was soon taken away because of trademark infringement (Nitendo).
I still think all this is a very convoluted joke. Ok, one may ask why to put that effort in a joke, also there was a signed PDF with S.M. (why didn't he use his full name? Usually you sign internal papers that way, but if this is one, then I am the pope tomorrow...). All this 'soup' for an oncomming update? humm.. Also it's too convulted to be a good advertisement for the game I think.

I can only warn to not troll and spam if there is no update comming in August as most 'believers' think... :)
Whatsoever, this must be a new modern method to spread hype...I don't fall for it.

XenonS: ...SNIPS...
No Mario's Sky was redone to get out of the DMCA..

As for the update its been confirmed via twitch, Sean himself and others at Hello Games the ARG is real and an update is coming... the ARG is just to help pass the time and it's being used to see what interests the player base..

sofar though the ARG we are highly confident about:
-portals
-new ships
-better space stuff happening
-new enemy

Fairly sure but still a maybe:
-bigger structures
-more lore
-crashed ships
-derelict ships in space
-more tiles and better randomization

what we think might happen:
-quest system
-reason to do things
-new universe
-new race
-new building options

far out there
-multiplayer like dark souls style
-smaller multiplayer universe with some reduced functionality

That sounds very interesting, thanks Starkrun to enlight me about this ARG, an unconventional way to keep the game interesting. My above response may sound very pessimistic but it's just my ignorance and thoughts after reading the Steam threads, I hope it doesn't read too negative - not my intend.

Good news that there might be more to do in space, a clear signal that huge content will be added which the game urgently needs. Slowly but surely NMS will get the best space game ever I think.

Thanks for the link of pseudo- No Mario's Sky, I appreciate :==) I thought this nice jewel was abandoned, but NO. Nice, I like this more to wait for the update...

Cheers,
Your welcome...

The ARG is nice and they have done a lot of cool things with it. Im very excited for next month and i cant wait to see what happens, i know everything we are speculating cant happen but its nice to know they are aware of what needs done and have plans for 3 phases of patching :)

Anyways, if you want a spot to hang out there is a semi-official Discord here: https://discord.gg/yApZjvG

That's a never expire link you can use and pass around if you like, have fun traveler!

What does or would that even mean?

Exactly... Originally (can be seen with retail copy of unpatched NMS on console) world generations changes as you get closer to center... they pulled tons of data out of NMS and replaced it after launch on console, maybe pulled is the wrong word, anyways.. There is evidence of many things that changed at the very last second of release.

There was a time when a portal would really be a portal to someplace not of the universe... a pocket dimension or a new generation of your own, for you. Many theory's some based on data some based on evidence in game and the arg. Portals can be found by following certain patterns of structures, in a very specific way on unique planets in the universe.... so they were planned from the start to have a function and meaning, their shaders and textures have always been in the code as well.

I guess we wait and see, I for one am very excited. Even if only a small sliver of this comes to pass... it means more will be coming.... and im ok with that!

It's refreshing to see people talk about NMS with genuine interest and excitement. Despite its shortcomings, I think the devs and game didn't deserve all of the hate they received post-release.

I'm personally looking forward to the next major update. That's probably the time for me to finally give the game another go.
OP, I have checked on Twitch. There is one video dated 17.08.2016, which is the release trailer I think and nothing more. I didn't find any confirmation/negation of this ARG thing made by any HG team mate, not by Sean, not by anyone of HG.
So my theory of a simple charade not relating to HG, but a hype train only, all this theroy still stands firmly on its feet.

It's like the Baye's law (also called Baye's Theorem), the most fantastic your statements are, the more evidence you must bring in to defend them...

I agree with XenonS. I'm not a fan of the way this upcoming update has been advertised. I don't think it's trolling by HG though. It's been almost a year and reviews on GoG and Steam are still bad. I don't think they'd want to piss off their remaining fanbase. I think Hello Games would shoot down any rumors if this update really is just a result of overhyped fanboys.

In the meantime I have re-visited the Walking Titan and its ARG (the results only, I didn't actively partecipate), these 'Puzzles' lead actually to interesting images and text. Problem is HG would convince and make it even more interesting if such images would show some selected in-game previews, some scenes that are actually in the game of the incomming update. This can certainly be done without revealing too much, but would be VERY convincing.

Alas, it ain't so. And not a single word from Hello Games since the start of all this AFAIK.

I guess they're still burned from the initial release. They went from showing a lot of footage (while still not giving enough info) to giving away almost nothing.

All the above where I say "Walking Titan" should read "WAKING Titan", sorry for the confusion.
Prior of releasing their last main update, Pathfinder, Sean Murray did an announcement on March 8, 2017 on Twitter with images. The update came out on March 28. If not by the ARG then it's reasonable to expect a similar announcement. I hope soon :)
