Ok, so far this update was a disappointment.

Broken VR
- It was fine yesterday, today after update I suddenly have problems everyone was describing yesterday... (there's plenty of topics on this subject so I won't be going into details)

Weird or bad VR mechanic choices.
- Virtual HOTAS is a nightmare to control anything yet that's the only option to fly a ship
- Why can't we just interact with objects like crates, boxes or plants (like in other proper VR games - Lone Echo comes to mind) but instead need to "fish" for a interact icon which teleport us to an object just to display a UI that is half buried in the nearby rock, tree or whatever else happens to be next to it.

Not only VR issues

- HUD in general, pop ups are nagging and annoying and you can't disable them. It's either no HUD at all or everything on.
- Base Building - Who the hell thought that wiring everything is a good idea. The Creation mode should be renamed to Wire Simulator no. Bases look now like a mess. If you don't have the power up nothing works, if you do power thing up then all the doors are getting locked and you can't even go inside your building.

I don't like to grind so I stayed away from Normal mode and was happily building and upgrading my bases in creation mode but now even this is boring and your base just looks awful with all this wires around.

Well... looks like we will have to wait another 3 years for it to be ironed out.
Good I kept the install files from the previous version. I might go back to that.
This Dev has gone above and beyond fixing things and patches and all for free and for a $30 game..

They even released multiple fixes today...why did you have to start with such a negative post on the second day after release and not give them any chance to fix anything?

Hi! we have the right as a paying consumer to be disappointed in a product purchased, if it does not meet our expectations or does not perform to the specifications advertised on the tin even if the cost of the product is $1 or $1000 ect. And i don't see how "Rudal" is being negative by expressing their disappointment in the product "NMS" that clearly has not met the users expectations and they are clearly not alone in that sentiment! finding constructive ways to vent one's frustration and disappointment (without hurting others or yourself) is very healthy and positive. I have no doubt "hello games" will fix NMS Beyond as their track record has proven that but! we all have the right to be disappointed in the current state of things. ;)
my only disapointment so far is not being able to rebind my keys.. but luckily i can just use my logitech software and bind the controllers themselves instead...

only other bug ive come across that has negatively affected is some sort of buying bug that takes more units then advertised ;) but it really hasnt affected me too much since i keep my credits fairly low at this point in the game (new Survival save)
Unfortunately people are getting used to the notion of "it'll get fixed soon".
If Beyond only had technical problems I could live with that. It's a software it gets messed up but there are some gameplay issues that are just bad design choice. I'm not saying HG should copy other games but why now use some of the "hints" from other games that have done things better way?
Overall VR works for me but it's not the best VR experience I had unfortunately.
We are used to "will be fixed later" because they have been fixing this game for 3 years now and it get better all the time.

And we are so used to it beeing broken mess just after major update, it doesn't phase us much. They have very good track record of fixing it in a week or so to make it playable again.

But truth be told, we are used to it because we actually really like the game when it works. And alternative would be to not play it. So... we just got used to this crap every half a year to a year.
While I do agree, and love to play, it's soooo annoying when the basics like control rebind MENU itself is all broken and visually glitched. Builds in this state should, as they used to, be released as experimental / beta versions first, until they're presentable. That's how it used to be back then. At least with that procedure, you have players conciously opt into something that might be buggy, and it'll change expectations while still being able to play.

The only result would be, fewer players would play it, because those that get angry about game breaking or annoying bugs will wait for a clean, stable release. If you want that, nowadays, you have to disable updates and check if it is safe to update manually all the time. Experimental branches are a feature, they are just being ignored by the devs.

If you release a product in such a state as they did, it better has a huge label on it saying experimental. Risking auto-update to break your 200+h savegames is not cool.

Is it still possible to get the refund?

Seems to be an ongoing trouble with this game never properly worked at all.
Now there is this update and i have to get an update for vulkan something. But i cannot cause my system does not allow it
My system uses a intel driver from Lenovo anLenovo does not update the driver yet.
I cannot get it from Intel so your screwed.
So maybe uninstall it and count my losses and add it too the many dosappointments on GOG.

By the way: The support article that said that the problem is solved if you set your AMD driver to high preformance is not true. It should pick the AMD driver and not the Intel. But it does not do that otherwise the problem should not exist.

My suggestion is just play No Mans Sky 1.77 the last good stable version before Hello Games tried to do fancy tricks to impress everyone at the party but just ended up spilling drink on them self. It will be months until Beyond is fixed and personally i just can't play beyond for more than five minutes at a time as WSAD really sucks and VR is not working for me very well! Good thing i have archived every version of NMS from day dot! Time to reinstall NMS v1.1 Foundation my personal favourite incarnation of NMS, until Beyond is FIXED GOOD!.
I got both v1.77 VISIONS and BEYOND installed. And damn, the loading times in BEYOND are so absurd, I could fire up VISIONS and play that until BEYOND has loaded... just entering my gate to get to the station inside the same system... heck, accidentally went to my base that I was already at once, and it still took like 1 minute of "loading" time to place me back where I was, effectively doing nothing...

In VR those loading screens are almost melting my eyes! You can't look away in VR so I have to sit with my eyes closed...

Yes! The Beyond load times are very bad indeed, and for a good portion of the wait you are staring at a black screen. All previous versions have loaded super fast, i'm guessing the new long loading times has something to do with all the new assets and systems AND the game not being fully optimised but instead held together with duct tape.
