The ongoing development of this game is a good thing but in this instance I'm feeling in two minds.

On my PC it does look better but the impact on my ongoing games has left me feeling a bit flat. You no longer have the option to place tech enhancements in general slots they can only go in tech specific ones. So ships can't get an extra boost. To compensate we can build more tech slots but there hasn't been an increase in the number of enhancements per tool type you can install - the limit is still 3. Effectively my favourite starship has had it's capacities halved - half the shielding, half the damage potential, half the hyperdrive distance. Similarly the exosuit - you can no longer put extra shielding etc into the genral slots - there are no general slots just tech and cargo.

I'm not sure by how much the number of slots have increased or whether there are new available expansions that are more powerful that might help redress the balance. There will be a depressing period of drop pod hunting to build up my exsosuit - thought I was long past all that!

I can confirm the Anomaly duplication glitch no longer works. Damn!

I like that the inventory is all on the same page now, it saves me a lot of clicking :) Since there is so much space now maybe they're planning to add more upgrades or something in the future?

Another nice thing is that you can pick up an installed upgrade and move it to a different item, for example if you have an upgrade on a multi-tool but you want to sell the multi-tool and build up a new one, you can pick up installed upgrades from the old one and put on them new one :)

And renaming saves is nice! But I've heard that it doesn't rename the actual files so I still won't be able to move out some to make room for more.

The rocket for selling is great too :)

Being able to tweak difficulty will be nice as well. Then I can up the difficulty a bit when it gets too easy for me :)
The (welcome) boost in inventories sizes does indeed probably compensate the techs limitations, but... still not too fond of that. I for one liked having two inventories, the general usage one to swap, transport and use temporary stuff, and the cargo for accumulating quantities of stuff that I'd never wish to remove from my backpack (oxygen, etc) or tiles that would always be occupied (rusty metals, slimes, etc). It really made sense to me to have two categories : one readily available inventory, and less reachable deeper pockets. I'll miss that.

Also dd some sot capacity bars get replaced by percentages ? Not really fond of that either, numbers feel more gamey and less organic.

And as someone who likes travelling through black holes, losing the little gameplay element of unprotected tech is a disappointment. A bit of flexibility and cost/benefit juggling is lost.

No huge deal though.
... Except, it took so long, the 4.03 patch game out before we got the 4.00!

So, for me, my download included the 4.03 patch!

Where are the FSR settings? I don't have them. Using an AMD 6900XT? Do I need to create a new game?

Graphic Settings > Anti-Aliasing

Turn on AA and the FSR options become available.

I am playing with my week 1 save (August 2016). I had a few first week saves that I deleted as I was trying to figure out how to get going and did not like some of the choices that I had made.

There was a commitment made that players would always be able to use existing saves.
The new update is awesome. I really enjoy the new inventory system. My Difficulty is Custom - Max, so high I get like 15 nanites per dmg machine. :?
