Hi.

Looks like I finally can lose Frigates due to them suffering 'Catastropic Failure' during a mission. I ran a two star Frigate fleet against a two star mission, all four Frigates suffered damage (which I ignored, as usually), and once the mission finished, the game told me during the debrief, that I had lost all four.

That's a nice one for a change, since ignoring my crews getting beaten the <bleep> out of them now can have more drastic consequences, than just having to suffer through the recent changes in Frigate repair UX.

Anyway, alll four of them are now stuck in 'Awaiting Debrief'. I can't remove them from my fleet. Middle mouse button in the Fleet overview, reload / restart, moving freighter, changing Star Systems, etc, all done to no avail.

Any hints other than trying to use the save game editor for removing the dead ones ?
Restoring a backed up save, I just noticed, that during the debrief of my four Frigate mission, the game tells me, that all four have been damaged, and that three other, completely unrelated Frigates, have been destroyed. My bad, I didn't notice this oddity before.

All three were undamaged, with one still being on a mission and two awaiting debrief from other missions. I was able to debrief them in their respective Fleet Control Rooms.

The four allegedly damaged Frigates show no damage in the Fleet overview.

That's a new one to me -- I've never seen the game stumble over its own feet in this way with the bookkeeping on Frigates. This time I got lucky. I wonder, if next time the game decides to blow half of my fleet up for real.

As a sidenote, I updated to 2.12 while I had 5 missions running. Only one of them suffered from this behaviour so far.
Yes, it seems that HG has nerfed-up the frigate damage probability and consequences. In past version I was almost always fine if my so-called "Fleet Rating" was above the mission difficulty (more stars in the rating). If I do it now by adding more frigates to the mission, then STILL they can return damaged - although not severly.

Something that I have found a couple of times is that the mission difficulty was one star different in the mission list than what was in the assign ships menu and sometimes missions went from 2 stars in mission list to 3 stars in assign frigates. To avoid this I always try to be at either the high end of a level or two levels above what was listed. Since starting that practice I have not had any damaged frigates.
With only one Frigate, which returned with a "Catastrphic Failure", and I repared it, I can't do anything else because it's still "Awaiting Debrief". I do not have an early save to go back to, and seeing as this happened after I was about 24 hours into the game, and now I'm about 40, or more, hours in, so I don't want to go back that far.
Also. I only have about 4 million units, so I can't afford another one yet.

So does anyone know how can I get my Frigate to do another Expedition?

I assume, you actually debriefed your Frigate in your Fleet Command Room ?

If the Frigate did not show up your Fleet Command Room, but is shown in 'Awaiting Debrief' state, I'd back up my save (C:\Users\<YourUserName>\AppData\Roaming\HelloGames) and then try the following solutions / workarounds:

- Check, if I didn't accidentially build other Fleet Command Rooms, and the Frigate is waiting for me in one of those.

That's tricky, since the game lets me build FCRs in impossible positions (or maybe I orphaned one by removing access corridors / adjacent rooms), which can be very hard to find in-game. I'd probably use the save editor to check for the presence of this, so that I actually know, that there's a hidden one.

- Add another Fleet Command Room, save and restart the game. Check, if the Frigate shows up in the 2nd room
- Rebuild my Fleet Command Room, save and restart the game. Check, if the Frigate now shows up

If you decide on using the save editor for checking on the number of FCRs, I can elaborate on how to do that.
