I'm wondering if there is a mod anywhere that changes just the quickbar at the bottom. The problem I'm finding is that it's difficult to see if stealth mode and the detect mode are on or off - there is the faintest thin yellow line that to my poor old eyes is really difficult to see so I'd like something a little bit more obvious.

I've looked at the Complete GUI Alterations Package but there doesn't seem to be a subsection of that which just changes the quickbar or am I just missing it? Anyway, suggestions would be gratefully received :)

There is a tga in that package that will do exactly what you're looking for. I use it myself for that very purpose, even though I don't use the rest of the mod. Look for a file called "qb_but.tga" in the Transparent GUI component of the package and extract that into your override.

I never noticed/forgot the highlighting effect because it was so close to the border, and only 1 pixel thick at 1920 resolution, so very faint. I can see it when really looking and knowing it is there, but I would prefer something more obvious as well.

But I am not a fan of transparency effect. Instead I modded another file to have darker more subtle border, this looks more like stock, but still makes the highlight window more visible.

I attached my version to this message as a PNG.

Convert it to TGA (I tested irfanview to convert and it worked) and drop in your Override, if you are interested in something more subtle that still makes the highlight box standout better.

I tested out each file and prefer the non-transparent version - so thanks PeterScott for sharing your version and thanks to jjglvz for giving me a second choice.
