i've been playing Enhanced Edition of NWN 1 without issues and in multiplayer till gog updated their client today after which it the game would lock up 2 seconds after launching. if anyone else is experiencing this the fix i did was turned off the ingame gog overlay features. that seems to be what was seizing the game (explains the 2 second delay before crashing)

Yeah, even Steam overlay doesn't work properly with each game, and they have much longer experience with this stuff.

The first thing I do is disable overlay upon installation of both Steam and GOG Galaxy, just to prevent any funky business with games.
