I purchased RealMyst last week and ran into many of the same issues that others have (black screen, won't load, etc.,). I tried the solutions offered on the forums to no avail. I submitted a request for a refund the same day and have yet to hear anything. Can somebody from support please assist me in this?
the normal, boxed version of realMYST isn't compatable with vista or 7 due to some error that needs to be fixed with a hex editor or something. that's just what I remember. I don't know about the gog.com version, though. Surely they would try to fix it, or not show it as compatable with Vista, right? Since I own the boxed version I probably can't be of help but if you put of an exact list of your problems I could try to get a couple solutions.
I am running XP. I appreciate your willingness to assist me. I think at this point I would just prefer a refund. Unfortunately my support ticket hasn't yet been answered which is somewhat disappointing.
Not sure when you filed the ticket, but we recently had some Eastern.
In Europe we have 2 Eastern days, the 2nd being the Monday.
It's a day off for most people in Europe, probably in Poland too where the GOG people are from.
Also keep in mind their country suffered a tragedy this weekend with the fatal plane crash of their president and a lot of other important people.
It might take a bit longer due to that.
I filed a few tickets myself and they always answered them, so just be patient.
GOG doesn't do refunds.
You buy it, you keep it as it's completely DRM free.
I woudn't give up yet. Realmyst is worth a couple of days of troubleshooting. Like I said I know you can fix the issue on the boxed version, but it means changing the exe so idk if I can find and post directions here.

I am very disappointed in the customer service so far at GoG. I have now waited 10 business days and still there has been no official response to my ticket from a member of GoG. While its only $3 spent, I am still surprised at the lack of response. Very disappointing.
File a follow up on that ticket and check your junk mail folder.
Hertog might be on to something; GOG did not respond to my initial request for tech support regarding my sound issue, but after giving an update to them saying that it still wasn't working, I got a response back. Unfortunately, I don't know as the suggestion would do anything and it was after I already beat the game in question (not sure if I want to go back to Riven just after I beat it) but giving them a good poke might get them to answer. I'm sure they probably get millions of tech support requests, though, so it's not as though they're ignoring you.
It is now going on 6 weeks since I purchased Myst. I have received one response out of 5 messages. The only response I received told me to try the support suggestions which I had stated didn't work in the original message. Honestly there is no excuse for such poor customer service and lack of communication. All I would like is for someone from GoG to reach out and let me know that they have received my concerns and understand my frustrations.
