Hi,
Riven GoG version suffers from occasional freezing, sometimes when saving, sometimes just in game....even after all the hints and tips I've read.
I have copied the riven content to another folder with a new Data folder as suggested.
I run as administrator.
I run in compatibility mode (have tried several) XP sp2/3 works best so far.
I have tried several QT versions, from 4 to 6.3 (QT2 and 3 won't install)
I run QT in safe mode (GDI only)
Videos play just fine and overall it works quite well, but these freezes.

I have Windows 7 64 bit home edition on a laptop, ATI HD Radeon 4570 series videocard
and a AMD athlon dualcore M300 processor...

After crashing I get a message after quiting Riven through taskmanager with sth like Apphang1

Any suggestions?

Kind regards, Auk

something you haven't mentioned you've tried that i have heard off is alt tabbing out of the game and using the task manager somehow to set affinity to ensure that the game is only using one core. I haven't had to do it so I don't know how to try beyond what I've described. good luck.
Thanks for the tip man, I'll try that...
