Hi there. I didn't found something about it here in the forum.

I just installed myst masterpiece edition. And it starts and I hear wind. But the screen keeps black. I have a handcursor and if I go to the top of the screen, the window overlay appear. If I keep pressing the right mouse button the sound stops short and then goes further (I guess, its a screen change) And then I hear something like an elevator?

But thats it. It seems the game is running and get my actions, just the screen is black.

Have someone an idea?

I had the same problem. Windows 10 x64. I tried compatibility mode : win98 (the crashes, reboot my PC), win XP SP3 (as bad as normal mode).

The problem was solve doing what they said here : https://www.gog.com/support/myst_masterpiece_edition/crashing_video_playback_issues_or_other_visual_glitches

uninstall quick time, reinstall, change compatibility settings of quick time (video : GDI only) and it works!
