I just bought what I thought was the entire Myst series but then I noticed Myst III Exile is missing. What gives?
Thanks
If you just want a few solid adventure games nothing gives. If you want the background and story correct, it does give a good deal. There are quite a few references to events in previous games

The games are fun nonetheless.

Agree the games are great (I have the old CDs but they won't work on newer systems). My question was why is Excile not included in the Myst series group for sale by GOG. I found other references that seem to suggest it's a licence issue . I also found it's available as a PS2 game from Sony. I wonder it Sony owns the rights.
Cheers
It is said it is a Ubisoft thing. I don't understand why because there's a ton of Ubisoft games on GoG. I bought the Myst trilogy, cd edition, and Exile worked perfectly on vista 32 bit. I also bought Revelation on DVD, which also worked fine on vista 32 bit.
Exile (Myst 3) and Revelation (Myst 4) are a bit of a legal patchwork. They were published by Ubisoft but not developed by Cyan. A couple years ago the publishing rights for Myst reverted back from Ubisoft to Cyan, but where that puts the games Cyan didn't develop is unclear.

Myst 3 was developed by Presto Studios which did the Journeyman Project series, while Myst 4 was developed at Ubisoft Montreal.

I know Rand Miller at Cyan has said that they want all the games to be available, but it's a question of getting the right people to sign the right papers, which is apparently more difficult than many think.

Thanks for the tip! Based on your comment I loaded Exile and it appears to be working. Much appreciated.
