Did one of the unofficial patches remove the skill point from the wishing well in Land of the Giants? I have played through mm7 20-30 times in the past 15 or so years. I started slightly abusing it through a few runs depending on my party layout. I have the original CD set which still works but the download from GoG it does not. It still gives +gold and chance of death/erradication/stone.

The skill point bonus should still be there. I've received it when playing the gog.com version.
