Music worked fine for a while...
installed the widescreen patch to the game
Also installed the "Very good fan patch" for mm7, the GrayFace one.

But the music worked fine for a while.. it was only today i noticed that the game is mute.
all other sounds work, but music is silent.

The volume of the sound is all the way up.

Is there a keybind to toggle music? If so, i might have accidentally hit the button with a hammer(-ish) while trying to determine what various buttons did :P

Fixed it by going into the mm7.ini and changing "PlayMP3=0" to "PlayMP3=1".
Not sure why or how it was OFF, but it's back to playing the delightful music again ^_^
Though i DO tend to turn the musics volume down so it's not deafening.

Someone might find use of this too... or maybe not... *shrugs*

The patch was first created long ago, when there were no digital version yet.
I think too that at this time Greyface didn't want to weigh his patch with MP3s, music that all the players had on CD/DVD.
So, it's for historical reason that the music is not set to MP3.

Since i can't actually mark my own posts for "solved" i had to wait for someone to come by and post something... ZFR was the lucky winner, hehe

but yeah, it should be told to people before or after they get the Gray faced patch...

But he had written on a forum how to convert the CD musics to MP3, so the game to become actual no-CD.
