In the grid based Might and Magic games (at least MM2-MM5), there is a spell called Time Distortion that warps your party to "the safest square in the area". I have noticed that, in at least MM5, sometimes the "safest square" isn't necessarily where you would expect.
Here are some interesting examples:
Darkside A1: Takes you two spaces south of the +2500 HP fountain. (Needless to say, this is very useful.)
Castle Alamar Basement: Takes you to the Shangri-La entrance. If you have not hit the switch and are playing Darkside alone, you could get stuck this way.
Sandcaster Sewers: Takes you somewhere that is definitely *not* safe; there are eye monsters attacking you!
Sandcaster: If it's noon and you are facing the correct direction (I believe it's south, but I could be wrong), everyone gains 1800 spell points.
(Also, the +1000 spell point fountain is easily reached via Time Distortion.)
Dragon Tower 4F: Actually takes you to the exit to the Dragon Clouds, not the stairs down. (Useful for reaching that +50 level fountain early.)
