Yes, I'm sorry, I have always used the browser to download things, and they have always worked fine so long as I saved them. Vista vs XP just gives me different warnings for downloaded executables; I am continuing to delay upgrading to windows 7. Still, your browser should be approximately the same program, so it's worth a try whenever you're able.
