haha. sorry. post scratched. i managed to find the answers i want within the forums.

to avoid crash in mm8's escaton palace, turn off the sound/music, then go in. and play without sound.

Once your in you can turn the sound back ON and it should play through the rest of the game.

It was crashing repeatedly as I walked into the palace and I was about to lose it... haha

Just want to say thank you because this post really helped me.
I had the same issue that the game always crashes when enter that palace, just before you are about to finish the game.
I tried everything I could think of, and even consider to file a complaint to gog.
Gladly I found your post first, and it worked for me.
GOG should really fix this annoying bug in the next revision.
