Okay so last time i had this issue i actually managed to work it out but now i have no clue on how i did it. The problem is that when i start up MM7 it boots up on only half the screen, with fucked up colors and unresponsive. I installed the greyface patch as usual and tried going through all the other solutions google / the forum suggested but it didn't work out so any help would be appreciated.

I've had that problem occasionally. I used to hit F4 for windowed view, and then F4 again for full screen. That has usually made it work. Biggest problem I've had is that I can't change the compatibility mode (stuck in compatibility mode for Windows 95). Also, you could try in reduced color mode - 16-bit.
