It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).

Every other Might and Magic in the set runs fine, but for some reason DOSbox will start to load 4, and then quit. I've tried running it in all graphic modes. Then I tried lowering my resolution, which worked once, and now I can't replicate the success.

Suggestions?

If changing resolution worked, you might try switching to windowed mode.
What GPU do you have?
I don't even have time to try. DOSbox loads up, screen turns black for a few seconds, then it kicks me back to the desktop.

GPU is an ATI Catalyst from like five years ago.

go to MM4-5 game folder, open .conf file in notepad and change line "fullscreen=true" to false.

Nope, windowed mode doesn't help.

That's strange. I actually wonder if a reinstall might help.

You could also try a newer version of DOSBox... just grab it from dosbox.com and install it over the old version.

You should also make sure you have the latest drivers for your graphics card.
I was actually using the version that came with the MM pack. I'll try downloading the real DOSbox.

Kinda embarrassed I didn't think of that myself -_-
Another thing you can try is editing the .conf and removing the "exit" line at the end of it, thus the window won't auto-close after the game exits, and you'll be able to see any error messages. It is possible that you'll also have to edit the shortcut of the game and remove the "-exit" part at the end if it's included, but you should end up with a dosbox prompt telling you the error message that caused the game to quit.

Well, the one that comes with the pack should work fine, but if you're having problems, updating might be worth a shot.

Also JMich's advice about removing the -exit tags so you can see the error message is a good one. I can confirm that you will need to remove the tag from both the .conf file and the shortcut.
Ok, it says "No CD-ROM drive or MSCDEX.EXE not loaded!"

Do I just need to manually mount the C drive?

There's nothing to mount there really, that shouldn't be an issue.
How about some info about your configuration? - what OS your're one, where the game is installed, did you change anything after installing, etc.

That error is saying the game is looking for a CD but can't find one. Original MM4/5 (the one on GoG) doesn't use a CD. The later re-release (aka "talkie" version) uses CD.

Are you using the GoG version installed with the GoG installer? Or are you trying to get the "talkie" version running?
No, I'm using the GoG version.

I guess I'll try reinstalling it.

Do try that and see if it works. You shouldn't be getting a CD-ROM error.

However, there is a way to modify the .conf file so that it will mount your CD-ROM drive. Since you won't actually have a disc, I doubt that will work, but we can try it if the problem persists.
when i try to run this game mine says illegal command xeen.exe

reinstalling now, hopefully it will work, 4-5 was my favorite just did not like when you meet that knight and you didnt type the correct word, you couldnt continue the story line from one world to the next
