This seems to be a common problem, but everytime I try to access any menu - inventory, rest, tactics, save & load, etc - the game freezes for 10-30 seconds.

I've seen people claiming they solved this by playing the game in Win 98/ME compatibility mode, but that didn't work for me. Any other tip?

I'm on a Win 10 64bit, btw.

It is also unplayable on windows 7 for me. It has a very long lag. If you wait around 5 minutes for each menu it will actually work.

I've never been able to get mm9 to run any better then you have just described. you need to remember this game was rushed out the door while 3DO was going bankrupt.

In my opinion and personal experience I wouldn't even bother with mm9, you will probably spend hours trying to get it to work and then when you do it will then randomly start crashing on you.

Here is file in other similar thread, which should help with menu lag. Try it and write back if it works.
