So when i was doing the retrieve thjorad from lindisfarne quest i just walked up to the monks and killed em, easy enough got the relic right? well this was a big mistake since i forgot i will need the monks for priest promotion and the dragon battle.

is there any way to reset the monastery or deaggro the monks? dont think i killed the important ones.

All areas in the game are subject to respawn after some time, so you can just wait to complete the quest later. It might take up to 1 year of in-game time for respawn to happen.

However, if you don't have patience for that, you can use "Reset Area" trick, which is explained here:
