Hi there !

I have some problems with the key maping for MM7.
Each time I launch the game, it disable my custom key maping in the back, but while I check the option, it still like as I configured it.
I tried ti uninstall reinstall, the first game is ok, but at the second laucnh the problem is still here (and I run in compatibility mod with the greyface patch, I tried without though and no luck).

I fought I could solve it with editing the .ini file, but there is no ini file file in my custom install folder (no file with an .ini extension, there is some named as .728 though)

Somebody can point me a way to solve this ? I'm quite frustrated to note play in WASD+mouse...

(edit : miss some things)

Hey.

MM7 has key rebinding, so you don't need to edit .ini files (I don't think there even is any even with the unofficial patch). Just load up a game, click options and keyboard bindings and change them how you like.

Edit: I might have misread. I thought you tried to edit an ini to change it to begin with. In that case, as was pointed out below, try running the game as administrator. I've had some trouble with this game where it suddenly forgot my configuration (even the one in the setup) and even couldn't see saves until I changed it (though it was weird, it just did it one day without a change to game files that I know of).

I wonder if this is a Windows security problem that's preventing your changes from saving. Try running the game as Administrator, or even better, try installing to a location OTHER than Program Files (e.g. C:\Games) since the Program Files location has extra security protections.
Hi !

Thanks for the answers, but my problem is not more complex than key binding. My problem is some preassign key don't change at all. For example, the key "z" is bind to the review of the party. This key is still assign to this screen (I play with an azerty keyboard). Thats why I want to modify the .ini itself so it won't bother me again. But here's my second big problem : I have no .ini file in my computer related to the game (and yes I have installed it in a random directory).

Do you mean that there is no OPTION to change this key in-game? Or that when you try to change it it keeps reverting back to Z?

Oh right, if I remember correctly, that button (and several specific others) cannot be rebound. For that, you'll either need to use something like Autohotkey, or installing a standard qwerty keyboard layout in windows and switching to it when playing.
Yes, I think you're right Jann

I just remap keys in WASD way with another letters, boring but it works

Just not happy to have lost hours to find my ini file (still not found) and to be so idiot to not remap the key somewhere else...

Thanks to all for the help everyone :)
