This might seem a weird question, but I can't figure out how to save the game in MM2...

Enter an inn and the game will be autosaved. You can't save manually.

Thanks, I'm still getting accustomed to this game, but I'm having fun actually, and for one time I REALLY find that reading the manual is mandatory.
