I tried to apply latest greyface and now the game won't run. MM6 is just fine. MM8 fails with out starting, same as MM7.

I delete the folder and reinstall, but it just copies from the cloud and has the patch already on. Running the copy of the exe that greyface renamed, at least get the 3do splash and then goes away.

If I could get an install and not get it from the cloud, I would likely be able to play.

I could not find an option to install and not use the cloud backup. Anyone know how?
you have to check the box of "delete data and save files" when you uninstall, you can probably copy over the save files beforehand if you want to keep those.
Thanks will try that, will be a new game, so saves are not a concern.

Edit:
GoG still reinstalls with the same old files. Of course I get the same issues. I think I will copy my install from my other machine and see, if that works.

Go to the game in your GoG games library page here. Instead of the big blue Download and Install button, use the Download Offline Backup Game Installers option beneath. (I right click each file name then hit Save Link As to put the file straight where I want it instead of into My Downloads folder.) Having downloaded an .exe (and all .bins for larger games), run the .exe

EDIT: the installer .exe will create an installation folder. It will ask you where to put it/what to call it. To avoid some problems I've read about on these forums, DO NOT accept the default suggestion of a new folder within Program Files. Keep your MM7 folders well away from Program Files directories.

Thanks for the idea. Galaxy does not seem to have that option. It has a symbol next to the install button that offers some install options, but no offline one.

I play my Good Old Games the good old way. No Galaxy.
I've been getting the same issue. I just got the game a couple days ago and played for a few minutes yesterday but I think it applied some update today and now the game is toast. I got beyond the 3DO screen once and it crashed. So frustrating.
